Hi and welcome to the group. Good luck with your insurance. I have a now 7 year old who graduated from a STARband in 2003. I also have a busy 2 year old repo grad plus 2 older kids.

Newbie in Dallas, TX

Hi everyone,We are brand new to the Plagio world as our baby daughter, Imogen"Immie" has just been diagnosed with brachycephaly. She was born May22, 2008 at 37 weeks 5 days weighing 6 lbs 3 oz. She is now 16 lbs 13oz and very cheerful. We also have a son, Robbie, who will be 3 onFeb. 3rd. At Immie's 6 month check the doc noticed her head was growing widernot longer and that her head had increased in size over 40% in thelast two months. This led to a CT scan with sedation, which made DHand myself more nervous than she ever was. She came through withflying colors and the CT was normal - no premature suture closing. Sowe were sent to Cranial Technologies in Dallas for evaluation thefollowing week. The pediatric RN, , told us that based onImmie's measurements and the formula they use to calculate asymmetry,Immie was +3.1 percent above normal. They say she could be in theDOCband at the most 12 weeks with 2 week follow up afterwards. Nowwe're just waiting on insurance. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield ofTexas and I've read horror stories about them. I will check out theAppeals section and see if anyone's had any luck with them. I willalso put Immie's photo in the babies section. I really can't tell thatshe needs a DOCband except that her right ear is "behind" her left earwhen she lays down and she does have frontal bulging (the tiniest!)above her brow. Anyway, just wanted to say hello and introduce our family!, WAHM to Robbie, Immie and wife to , WAHD and computer testconsultant.
