I'm really happy for you. I'm still getting things done for my packet. I'm really getting close now. I have to get my papers back from my physical and write out my last contact. I have the results back from my pap and mammo. I have the dreaded pictures. yuk! I am going to go over my patient letter one more time to see if I need to add anything to it. I did it over again after Dr. R added more criteria to his things to do list. I just want to check it one more time. I have a couple topics that I'm not real happy with, but for the life of me, I can't put into words what I want to say on a couple of the topics. Still waiting on Cigna. I did go to the division director where I work and let him know what I have been dealing with. He gave me a couple of things he wants my PCP to do and said if we don't get a response from Cigna on my denial then he will make some phone calls himself. He was really nice and very supportive of my dicision to have surgery. He even shared a few things with me about some people he knows that has had surgery. He told me he wanted me to know he realized how hard it was for me to go talk to him about something so personal, more so because I don't really know him. He said he was sorry that it had come to the point that I had to go to him and share something so personal in order to get help with the insurance company. He also told me that he knows enough about obesity to know that it does not happen to a person because they are lazy, or don't care, have no will power, or just need to push themselves away from the table. He said he was very glad that I am taking steps to help myself reach a healthier life. I was encouraged when I left his office. I felt like I had left the office of someone who understood at least a little bit of what kind of toll morbid obesity takes on our lives. Well, this has turned into a short novel. Didn't mean to do that. Better go for now. Let me know how you are doing.
