Guest guest
Hi! I have been home since tuesday and am getting my energy back. My surgery went well-38 minutes and 6 feet. I had a little nausa. I will tell you that I was very afraid of getting a leak or throwing a blood clot. I really had to fight paraonia. Dr.R,of course said " Well you should be " I found Lynn, his P.A. to be a bit more reasuring. It is very important to limint the amount of liquids you take in at one time.Keep it to 2-3Tablespoon and go slow. Then you will be keeping your self safer. Moveing around (walking) after the surgery will also help to prevent blood clots. It was very scarey for several days. Things feel different and you are recovering from a major surgery. Now at one week, I am feeling much more comfortable with things, but still watching myself about amounts. I am fighting mind hunger. I can't wait to get to some other foods.I havew also wondered " What have I done! " But I see were others have gone thought the same thing. I am looking forward to a new life. I went to Lane B the day before surgery and purchaced some smaller sized clothes that were are a great clearance, It helped to realize that I will be much smaller soon. Well that all for now. Guest guest
Kathy, I was so glad to read your post regarding buying smaller clothes before surgery. I have been going nuts lately buying clothes. My date is 22Sep and I am big thrift store shopper. I have gone to a couple of thrift shops that were have BACK TO SCHOOL sales and I have spent about $100 and I have so much stuff its not funny! I have been very careful to buy clothes that are not really size specific like 12,14,16, etc, but I have been picking up XL, L and Mediums. All skirts and slacks I have bought are knit type material with elastic waists so they will work for several sizes. I bought a couple of really nice silk tops that are sleeveless for layering with suits. I have gotten some awesome deals. I have to dress for work and I travel for work too so I have to look professional, but we are basically single income with 6 kids as my dh is Mr. Mom so I have to be very frugal. It has really been a lot of fun to go thru the racks and find clothes that I know will fit within the next 6-8 months-I am so excited! I am glad to hear that you are becoming less paranoid and you are progressing " normally " . Please keep us all posted on your progress. We pre-ops love hearing from all post-ops with regards to their experiences good or bad. Thanks for sharing. Donna
