Guest guest
I thought I understood that after Oct 1st he was going to charge an upfront deposit type of thing of $1,000.00 and that if you're insurance paid him in full this would be returned to you. Has that changed? Cathy Morrow in Lenoir, NC BMI 42 A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

Guest guest
WHAT? Tell me this is untrue - How many people could self Pay? Sure it's a battle but many of us do get approved - why would he do this? Hope this is just incorrect information......
Guest guest
You are saying he is cutting out all insurance at all. no matter what and will only take self pay? is that the case or did i miss read this? melody > Date: Wed, 30 Aug 2000 15:44:46 -0000 > >Subject: talked to shannon at doc's office > >Ok Everyone I talked to at Docs office and she told me that >after October he will no longer accept any insurance will be strictly >cash. Guest guest
Dear Marg, Do I understand your post correctly? After October, Dr. R will not accept insurance (assuming you have won the battle with insurance to pay in the first place?) Guest guest
Hi Marg, I'm so sorry to hear that your insurance denied you! If you can get your appeal in right away, you can get a reconsideration in just a week or two and hopefully be able to get your surgery scheduled. It's not at all uncommon for a insurance company to deny the first time. I would say that most insurance companies do that hoping to scare someone off so they can keep their money. What is the reason that they are denying you? Post it and maybe someone on the list can help. I REALLY hate to hear that Dr. R is no longer accepting insurance after October. I know he has been talking about that, but we hav'nt heard anything else about it. I know his caseload is out of control right now, but many of us can't have this surgery if we can't use insurance. By the way, I was denied twice by my insurance company before helped me to get approval, so don't let it bother you too much. I just hope you can get it turned around soon. I'll be praying for your quick approval. Stormy > Ok Everyone I talked to at Docs office and she told me that > after October he will no longer accept any insurance will be strictly > cash. Guest guest
Hey terri, That is what the girl name told me. I got denied from my insurance and I was asking about medicare and all and she said after October he will only be getting cash. I am very upset my self. i Have 2 insurances and one he doesnt except and the other denied me. So doesn't look good for us poor folks. hugs marg
Guest guest
Thanks Stormy, But it doesn't look good. My insurance says it is an excluded benefit, and said get it in writting cause may not be anything I can do but change insurance. The only problem with that is it is my husbands company and they are not changing for me. He works for AGFA use to be dupont, they make Xray film. My other insurance is medicare and they do not except it so, i am very upset and trying to figure something out. hugs marg
Guest guest
That is good but that is not what the girl named told me she said exactly that he will only be taking cash after october, because i said i cant believe no insurance. She said that is way he is going to be able to control all of the patients he has now. She said there are to many people who want it and can pay. that is just what she said believe me it through me for a loop. I don't know who this girl is but she called me from the docs office. You know this whole thing has been one big merry go round. Just like insurance told me it would be covered and now not. So who knows. hugs marg
Guest guest
Hi, after seeing the first post on this I called the Dr's. office. I spoke to Jill. She said that starting October the 1000.00 deposit for surgery would be due as well as $255.00 for the clinic visit. Maybe they are not accepting insurance for the clinic visit. I should have had that clarified. Anyway, I think those of us fighting with our insurance should keep up the fight. We will see the other side. MGB hopeful since 2/19 > WHAT? That's like paying for a new car with cash! Rarely happens. I tell ya, between this and all the other negative things being said lately re: this surgery, I'm ready to find a new surgeon and procedure. I don't want to go through the process of getting everything together and the process of getting insurance approval, only to be told that's not good enough. My time is more valuable than that. Guest guest
Hi, Sorry if either misspoke or it was misunderstood. After Oct we will be asking for a 1,000 deposit. The insurance companies are as bad to us post op as they are you preop. If you are " committed " to having you insurance reimburse us so that you can recoup your deposit, it will be of help to us and our staff. We will still be accepting insurance cases for the time being. We will review hardship cases for patients that cannot afford the deposit on a case by case basis. Peace. RR Rutledge, M.D., F.A.C.S.
