Does anyone have any ideas on what to do with stinky cf diapers? I used to

use a diaper genie but every time I opened the lid to put another one in I

would just about pass out. Even after I quit using the diaper genie it was

still VERY hard to get rid of the smell from the container. Then I tried

double bagging them and putting them outside. I Had a stinky porch and all

it did was attract flies and skunks!

What do you think I should do? I will try anything. My whole house smells!

We had the same problem. We resorted to bleaching the whole genie

thing every time we emptied it out. We'd bleach it and leave it on

the porch to dry. Then we put the diapers in one of those plastic

grocery bags, tie it up and then put it in the genie. That seemed to

take care of the smell for us. Genie also makes " toddler " refills

that are supposedly thicker and reduce the smell. If you can't find

them in the stores, you can buy them online I am sure. Good luck!!

We emptied the poo in the potty, wrapped the diaper in a plastic shopping bag,

tied it, doubled it over on itself and tied it again. Then we threw it in the

trash can with the lid. We take our trash out 1 or 2 times a day since we are a

big family. When the trashcan gets smelly I spray it with Tilex mold and mildew

and wipe it out. Then sprinkle a bit of baking soda in the bottom and start all

over again.

Now if I could get the oily stains out of panties.... ;-)

I used to double bag them and take them right to the trashcan outside. I would

keep a lid on it to keep curious animals away and keep the can far away from the

house as I could while still remaining in the yard.........
