Hi Ann,

Your answer sent chills up and down me because I can relate so well to the

problems you were having. Its fantastic that you can do all those things now.

I am waiting for insurance approval but if I have to get a second mortgage to

pay for it I will. Thanks for the input. It does my heart good to hear all

the wonderful sucess stories that have come out of this surgery and all the

faith in Dr. R makes me feel as if I am in the best of hands.

Thanks again

Someone asked if we would do this all over again ... for myself, I would do

it in a New York minute! When I went into this whole thing, I was a mess;

constant sciatica, high blood pressure, arthritic knees, I couldn't stand

without my back cramping up. I couldn't carry around my 2 year old

granddaughter, which I hated more than anything else.

I had the MGB on 4/18/00 ... 31 minutes in the OR ... out of the hospital

by 10:30 a.m. on 4/19/00 -- back at work on 4/24. Have lost in the

neighborhood of 75-80 pounds (I only weigh at my PCPs office - next

appointment 9/16/00). I've lost 13 " in my waist -- most of my boobs --

extra skin? WHO CARES? I thank Dr R everyday for giving me another chance

at living. No more limping - or using a cane for my knees ... no more

sciatic problems ... carried my granddaughter for 4 hours one day - and

even kneeled to give her a bath! I was elated! I'm down 8 sizes ... lower

in weight now than in 20 years. I walk with a bounce in my step; smile all

the time -- and speak glowingly of Dr R and his wonderful group of success

stories anytime someone says " You look fantastic; how did you lose the

weight " ? I always say " I did a lot of research and found the best

procedure for me -- and went to an awesome surgeon in NC " .

Thanks for this great tool, Dr R -- the key to a better life -- I could

always lose the weight, but was much better at gaining it back plus more.

Now, I'll be able to keep it off!

Would I do the surgery again? YEP!!!

Ann
