I went to their website... and it looks to me like they have quite a few

prepared products... I just looked at the ingredients on one. Here's what I

copied:

<< white, enriched wheat flour (niacin, reduced iron, thiamine mononitrate,

riboflavin, folic acid), onion, textured wheat protein, canola oil. Contains 2%

or less of salt, dextrose, wheat gluten, autolyzed yeast extract, leavening

(sodium acid pyrophosphate, sodium bicarbonate), whey protein concentrate,

tapioca starch, rice flour, mustard flour, yeast, pectin, natural flavors from

non-meat sources, spices, garlic powder, sunflower oil, citric acid, guar gum,

paprika extract, onion powder, gum arabic, dough conditioner (ascorbic acid,

L-cysteine monohydrochloride)

Artifically colored with natural ingredients. >>

I don't know if ALL of the Quorn products contain these ingredients. I don't

have time to go through each and every one.... but it should be obvious that

this has many, many starches and additives that are illegal on SCD.

Here is a link to a news report that may be of interest:

Quorn

Ok, I've read the legal/illegal food list (a couple of them actually) and I

m curious as to why Quorn is illegal.

I've been to the Quorn web site. Quorn is a prefermented fungus that does

not contain soy. But, it does have a small amount of " milk protein. "

Is that the reason it is on the " no-no " list?

Also, this is a direct quote from the company: Mycoprotein does not

contain phytic acid or phytic salts which can interfere with mineral

absorption, and it has been shown that mycoprotein has no significant effect

on the absorption of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc or iron in

comparison with a polysaccharide-free diet.

Can anyone make sense out of that for me.

Thank,

Jazz
