Guest guest
Hi, I am wondering if eating a lot of bacon could be a problem on this diet? My son eats about 12 pieces a day. I buy the kind with no sugar added. It does have preservatives. His bowel movements have improved, but so far his ASD symptoms are pretty much the same. Perhaps he's been a little more anxious lately. I am trying, but can't get him to eat any other meats. I know he will eat ham, but haven't been able to find one that is SCD-legal. Any suggestions? Thanks, Liz mom to 5(PDD) and (3) 5th week of SCD
Guest guest
I personally would be uncomfortable with the idea of a kid eating 12 pieces of bacon (even legal bacon) a day. If you just ran out of the bacon... would he not begin to accept some other foods in it's place? He couldn't eat 12 pieces of it every day if you weren't cooking it and providing it for him. I don't mean for this to come across as sounding harsh... I understand it's a real dilemma you're in. It's just that I am always suspicious when a kid is self-limiting and eating a LOT of any one food... that it's somehow getting in the way of healing. Even if that food is a legal food. I would be concerned about the preservatives if he's eating that much of it. Could it be that he's just craving the salt?? I'm just trying to think of anything that might explain it. Patti Too much bacon? Hi, I am wondering if eating a lot of bacon could be a problem on this diet? My son eats about 12 pieces a day. I buy the kind with no sugar added. It does have preservatives. I think twelve is way too much even sugar free. of course I love the bacon and can see how someone would want that much. Carol F.
