Guest guest
" I heat the bottles for 10 minutes with hot water inside before I use them and I heat the food up really hot before it goes in. This is frustrating. " , I'm not sure what the problem is. I use ours all the time and I've not had any trouble. I put hot soup in ours and 5 hours later, when the bottle is opened, steam comes out the top and my boys have to " blow " on it to eat it. Are you putting boiling hot water in it for the 10 minutes to prime them? What are you putting in them? Guest guest
" Keep those school ideas coming! " Some fun ideas: Make the chicken pancakes into quarter/half dollar sized circles and send them with honey to dip them in. These will be similar to those disgusting Lunchables, but healthy. You can also make the chicken pancakes into slightly larger circles and send tomato sauce and pizza toppings to make " make-it-yourself " pizzas like those Lunchables. Most kids like fruit salad. To keep the apples from turning brown soak them in cold water with lemon juice in it. (About 1-2 tsp of lemon juice per cup of water.) You can also soak the banana slices and it helps them not to brown so much. For " Nachos " similar to those Lunchables, make half dollar sized chicken pancakes, then put them into the oven on low to crisp up. Make homemade salsa or guacamole to eat with the " chips " . (The chicken pancake and guacamole recipes can be found on pecanbread.com.) Homemade fruit leather is not hard to make. It can be cut into strips (cutting the parchment paper too) and then it can be rolled up like fruit roll ups. If the school is not nut free, use two banana pancakes as the bread and put nut butter between. No need for jelly because the banana pancakes are already really sweet. To make the pancakes uniform in size you can use a very small skillet or you can use a muffin top pan and prepare them in the oven. I've also used my Scooby waffle maker to make Scooby " bread " . (The other kids have been jealous of this.) Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/
