Guest guest
My Story: been through it all! Started Dec 2000 with pain and nausea, and I mean pain. Ended up in hosp. where they found a 8mm x 12mm cyst (they thought it was a tumor) on my pancreas. Ended up in MUSC ton the day after christmas and never got back home till Feb 22 2001, they tried stents, complete rest (no food)and were so sure it was cancer they perform a Whipple Procedure. Well it wasn't cancer, but they said the cyst was pressing on the pancreatic duct so they had to do it. Well needless to say with all the complication, 2 major infection, sepsis, and 22 days in a coma, I came home 45 pounds lighter and still in pain, and the nausea was worst. I was on TPN for two months and had to go back in for two more surgeries. The last done on May 30 2001. Went back to work in Aug 2001 and now I'm back out with the same pain and nausea as of Dec 25, 2003. They want to do another surgery this week. I think I'm going to let them one last time and if that doesn't work I just keep taking the Percocets, Vicodins, Oxy-Contin, Phenegan, Composine, and Ultrase the rest of my life and just live with it. If anyone needs to know about pancreatitus just drop me a line, I think I have abigger database than most doctors. Just for the record, ERCP's in itself can cause accute pancreatitus as do some stent. Ruggieri jruggieri@...
