Guest guest
Good evening to all, I hope you that don't feel well now will soon and those that feel great keep it up. Now my question. Christian had a check up on the 30th which they said he still had an infection in his sinus and they started him on Doxycycl for 14 days. He still isn't acting " right " and really tired; still asking for naps. Put a call into the doctor's and they are going to try to get him seen by the ENT; if not they want to admit him for a tune-up. Remember he hasn't gained but 3 ounces in 3 months. I bought a stethoscope but I hear sounds in his lungs but not in mine or my husbands. for those that have stethoscopes what are we listening for? I haven't had it that long and didn't have it at the last appointment but will take it tomorrow if we get to see the docs. Don't really want The Boy to have to go through a tune up if it isn't necessary. Christian had been going to a small school, only 450 children. In 6th grade he will have about 1500 fellow students and I want him in the best shape possible. Sorry to ramble and thank you for your advice. I have learned so much from this list; I don't know what I would do without YA'LL ... ooops the southern is coming through! To all the new people, sure wish I could have met you under different circumstances but you have really found the best places to be. the information that you will learn here will help you and your spouse/child or whomever. Many thanks go to Grandma Bev, Becki our little Goober Girl, Kathy our Greek Goddess, Shana, our Ever Wise, and not to forget Ms. Kim the Supplement Informer! My thanks go to these people plus tons more, EVERYONE THANKS! I'll shut up now! Tina Mom to Christian 11 yowcf and 19 yowocf

Guest guest
Tina, When you listen to Christians chest what you don't want to hear is wheezing towards the lower parts of the lungs. Or crackling sound (kind of like crumpling paper) or no sound at all. You should hear the air moving when he takes breathes, it sounds kind of like the wind blowing. At least that is what I remember from nursing school (but that was 5 years ago). When I listen to Zack (which I have done since he was a baby) I know what sounds normal and not now. But I usually listen for the tell-tale crackle or wheeze that lets me know that something is not good in there. Hope he does ok and doesn't need a tune-up.
