Guest guest
Dina, I have all so been lifting the veil of denial. I'm forty and can't do a lot of things too. Things will get better. I'm dreaming of all the things I will be able to do after surgery. Keep your chin up. Kathie surgery date 8/
Guest guest
Dinah: I understand completely. I think the last bit of denial ended on this site! I too had been reduced to watching life go by. I am now getting my life back. I felt rididulous getting my husband to do things for me that I couldn't do...he's had a heart bypass for heaven's sake and is very unhealthy. This has solved that! I now do whatever I want. I've lost in the neighborhood of 50 pounds...enough to see in the mirror and enough to make me realize that I can again be a full participant in life! My life was heading to a dead end if I did not do something quick. I mean my back hurts ALL the time. When I make love, when I walk, when I sit. At the grocery store I have to shop using one of the motorized chairs in there. I had my biggest slap back to reality when I married my husband. We went to Florida for our honeymoon and I knew we would do all the favorites, Sea World, Universal Studios, Disney. We would enter the park and start walking and I would almost give out before I would reach the counter to rent on of those motorized chairs for me. Every night I would lay in bed and cry and cry and cry because my husband decerved better than this. We got home and the video was ready from our wedding. I sat there with tears weliing in my eyes getting sicker and sicker looking at my fat body up there barely able to stand for the ceremony. It was a hard hit. I realized at that moment that something had to be done and soon. My husband has been wonderful. Had I not married him my son and I would not have been able to survive. He works full time all day and comes home and takes care of the things that I cannot manage to do. I mean cooking was a farc. I have to sit to cook, because my back would hurt to much to stand there. I have been very upset about all of my problems and my husband said " Hunny it does not matter what you look like or what you do, I love you and the important thing to me is that I am with you. " Well, I am overcome everyday how another human being could love me as purely and wholly as my husband does. He makes me feel like I am a queen. I know your time will be here before you know it. Until then hang in there Gal we are rooting for ya!!!!! With Love, Lara M. Guest guest
Don't feel bad Dina, I think we all went through that even though we don't choose to admit it! I know I did. Feel free to e-mail me anytime, private if you like, I love e-mail!! rosemarylocklear@... Ok everybody, I know if I love e-mail I found the right place huh! Anyway, Dina you only have 11 more days! That back pain better enjoy itself while it has the opportunity, it doesn't know Dr. R is on its heels!!! Love ya, Rosemary MGB 7/24/00 ????? > Gosh the 16th better hurry and get here! I just read your post from yesterday! It does sound like you have a case of nerves going. You brought tears to my eyes! I think that the only thing that is keeping me from joining you is that I don't have my date yet! I sure hope I can be there at clinic and on the 16th so that we can hold each other's hands (figuratively or literally!) I hope you are feeling better! I think I got " ready " too soon.lol. Now I have another week of work and waitng before I leave from Durham. I hate waiting. I'm glad another person showed up with a aug 16th date though. I thought it would be me and all by ourselves. We would get the royal treatment then, maybe. lol Now Sheri from Dallas is trying to go on the 16th. hope Barbara can accomodate her! Guest guest
Rosemary< I'm in Andalusia, AL about 80 miles south of Montgomery. I'm really enjoy reading your posts and can't wait to be a post op myself. Next week will hopefully rush by, with all that still needs to be done. Reservations, last minute shopping, etc. I keep wanting to buy something new to wear in Durham, but I keep telling myself, why? It won't fit you for very long! So I guess they are gonna have to see me in my everday clothes! lol Dinah in Alabama mgb 081600 > > > > > > Gosh the 16th better hurry and get here! Guest guest
Hey Dinah, In Lumberton NC about 2 hours from Durham. I'm getting excited for you too!!! My post and pre experiences were great. Like I said I sent my packet in the 1st of July and they offered my the 20th which was my birthday (40th) ) but I declined the 20th (needed to eat birthday cake! lol) and settled for the 24th. Really quick huh! I feel like the man up stairs said its now or never, I chose now!! ) By the way, have you said where in Ala. you are from? I have an Aunt who lives in Montgomery. Is that spelled right? Here's wishing you speed through the next few days, Rosemary MGB 7/24/00 Re: ????? > Rosemary, where do you live? I hope I am as fortunate as you with my > post-op experience. Guest guest
Hey Dinah, Don't worry about the clothes, what ever you wear is new to anyone who sees you!!! Besides in the hospital they have the fashions chosen for you, a print gown open in the back of course and white sock with tan booties! Cool huh? Next week will be gone before you realize it. Can't wait to see you post it's over!!! Guest guest
Hi Dina, i can really relate to what you said. i am in constant pain. but you know what keeps me going and not feeling so bad? i know that one day this will all be over. we will no longer be fat anymore and in constant pain and not even able to do regular things like house cleaning and trying to tie our shoes and stuff. i have to get my son to put my shoes on and tie them up when i get ready to go to work. he is 15 and i know he don't mind, but it is so embarrassing for me. i face the day in anticipation when i will no longer have to get my children to do things that i should be able to do for myself. you just hang in there and know that we love you and we are here for you. may God bless you is my prayer.
