The National Association of Community Health Centers and cosponsors - the National Center for Farmworker Health and the Migrant Clinicians Network - invite you to join us at the NACHC 2009 National Farmworker Health Conference in San , Texas to be held May 12 -14, 2009. This year’s conference “Harvesting Change: Access to Health Care Services” will bring together migrant health programs and partners as we discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the nation and the farmworker families that we serve. We are honored to have as keynote presenter seven time Emmy award winner Quiñones, anchor of What Would You Do, co-anchor of ABC newsmagazine Primetime, correspondent for 20/2, and author of his recently released “Heroes Among Us – Ordinary People, Extraordinary Choices”. The NACHC Migrant Health Awards, the Migrant Clinician Network Unsung Hero, and the NCFH Scholarship Awards will also be featured at the conference opening general session. This year’s conference will also feature a viewing of the documentary American Harvest produced by Angelo Mancuso. The film explores the impact of the anti-immigration sentiment on the agri-business in the U.S. and farmworkers seeking opportunities and employment. Our educational program features policy, program, and clinical sessions as well as sessions for outreach workers, promotores, and board members. Three plenary sessions will provide updates on the Administration’s plans for the economy, migrant health center appropriations, current health reform discussions as well as current initiatives by NACHC and national partners.
