I like to think it has made mine kids stronger and wiser for it. Its hard enough to raise a family in a society where " immediate gratification " is the standard of quality; much less expect them to understand the frailty of life. I know its difficult to deal with your older son's troubles; I have seen many like that, we all have, unfortunately. Some make it out and some dont. I will hope and pray that your make it out.
