Flordia has a no smoking law that went into affect as of june 1st of this

year. The only places allowed to have smoking in them are bars that sell no

more

than finger foods.

New york also has a no smoking law that comes into affect the 24th or 28th

on

this month. it is much striker though and there is no smoking in ANY public

places, not even night clubs or bars

That FL law also lets bars that serve meals have smoking sections/allow smoking

in the whole place if they are a free standing building. I don't know why that

makes a difference but it is true. We ran into it when we went last month. My

daughter loves to eat crabs with her uncle Rob, so he tried to take us to a good

crab place he knew of. He assumed that the smoking ban was in effect but when

we got there we found out about that little loophole. I could smell the smoke

from the outside of the building.

In Iowa City they had a band against smoking in restaurants but it was just

over ruled because of some state law. It was nice while it lasted. Deb A
