Guest guest
Several children have been recovered off the spectrum with primarily one method ( SCD, GFCF, Son-Rise, ABA, AIT, sensory treatments, chelation, B-6 & magnesium, etc.). Several methods can trot out recovery stories. However, most experts (DAN, AUTISM ONE, CASD) who have obtained recovery would agree that most ASD children need an combination of phsiological (diet), sensory, educational, and structural intervention to get the best results. The spectrum is quite complex. Thank God ASD is a major piece to this complex puzzle, for many. I was invited to meet her at one of her therapy sessions. She had Listening Therapy. The mother posted frequently and long as she continued to improve, participate in school and bond with her sibling. Elaine related to me that she was disappointed as the mom gave up SCD in one year without waiting the additional year after symptoms were gone.. One of these days I will try to see how she is doing. She was an exceptionally beautiful little girl and had been invited to grace the cover of an autism magazine, but her parents valued her privacy and declined. Meeting that adorable child was one of the early experiences that made being on what was then Elaine's Children, so meaningful. Carol F. I have no desire to debate the value of other books further or to defend the fact that I prefer we discuss Elaine's protocols on this list at this time. I have expressed my preferences not those of the group and regrettably there are moments when I don't " put a lid on it " as we have been asked to do. Carol F. Guest guest
<<Thank God ASD is a major piece to this complex puzzle, for many. Agape, >> , Not sure exactly what you meant by this sentence. I think the point many of us have been trying to make is that we have NOTHING against the use of other treatments/methods or whatever for kids with ASD and other neurological diagnoses (my daughter included in the latter group)... as long as those other treatments do not include... as Carol put it so well... NON-COMPLIANT adjustments and modifications to SCD. None of the moderators here are trying to tell people to do SCD alone... with zero other interventions.... only supporting them in doing SCD without illegal modifications. thanks, Patti Re: Re: OT-SCD RECOVERY WITHOUT OTHER INTERVENTIONS Several children have been recovered off the spectrum with primarily one method ( SCD, GFCF, Son-Rise, ABA, AIT, sensory treatments, chelation, B-6 & magnesium, etc.). I just tell our story and what has worked for us. And make suggestions: " take what you want and leave the rest " is my motto. Especially when I read things that should be or, or marked OT. This should be every bodies attitude, when dealing with Off Topic interventions. Realizing that non-compliant adjustments and modifications to SCD, may keep SCD from working. I know I come on strong, but how can't I when we are only 3 months into witnessing a TRUE MIRACLE. Everyday, my husband and I stand in awe at our " new " little girl emerging. Everyday she shows her " new " personality. Thanks To " just " BTVC and SCD truly a new child. Guest guest
Oops, sorry, I meant 'Thank God, SCD is a major piece to the complex ASD puzzle.' Carol mentioned Listening Therapy in her post, about the little girl who'd done SCD for only a year, then she'd done Listening Therapy.
