Guest guest
This morning she ate for the first time and held it down! We are going home this afternoon if she weans from IV and meds well. Becky, I will take you advice, and listen to my intuition and just let her nurse......it seems to be the only thing that she can tolerate...and is the only thing she truly wants! Doc is fine with this too, she understands this GOD SEND. She is going home still so very sick, but truly will do better. She hates strangers and strange places, this alone has caused ASD to come back in ways that we thought where forever gone. We lost many SCD gains, but is already showing improvement in all areas. We are hopeful again. Witnessing her having ASD set backs has been very frightening. The doc says that her intestines have been damaged again by the diarrhea and virus. Thanks you, Antoinette and (celiac), parents to KIKI-2 celiac/asd SCD 2/
Guest guest
Hi Antoinette; Glad to hear Kiki is feeling well enough to go home. Did the docs tell you what type of virus she had? I know it's discouraging when you've been working so hard and you experience a setback. But as you said, she's already showing improvements now that she's home. With lots of love, care and good nutrition I'm sure she'll be feeling better in no time :-) Kim 3 weeks dairy-free SCD 3 yo ASD, 2 yo NT Re: Update 3/KIKI GOING HOME This morning she ate for the first time and held it down! Guest guest
Kim Asked: Did the docs tell you what type of virus she had? She came back positive for: AROTA VIRUS....hooked on phonics may not be working for me lol! Could be misspelling it. Plus she is due for her 3 month regression/set back that Elaine warns in the BTVC book. Could be a little of both....because this looks more like a celiac crises to us. Guest guest
Do you mean Rotavirus? I am so glad that Kiki is now home! I would be careful not to introduce any new foods while breast feeding Kiki, as she heals, as a precaution.
