I couldn't agree with your advice to Robin more! There have been people

who have gone for months to years without an attack, but they're not " cured "

of pancreatitis. The only " cure " that we know of now is the pancreatectomy

with auto-islet transfer, and even that doesn't always have a 100% success

rate.

Any doctor that believes a diagnosis of pancreatitis can suddenly vanish, and

turn into IBS or something else, isn't educated enough in pancreatic issues to

be trying to treat the problem. And a PCP, especially, just doesn't have

enough training in this specialty to make these judgements. Confusion like

this indicates to me that it's time to find a Gastroenterologist, and to make

sure that the Gastro specializes in pancreatic disease.
