I sort of felt the same way - everytime I thought about putting a big

helmet on my daughter's head, I felt badly for her to go through that

and felt like I would be cheated out of the many kisses I give her

cute little head every day!! I wasn't sure how I'd feel when the

band was put on her. But we just got home from the ortho office - we

picked up her new Star-band today and tried it out for an hour and it

wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. The worst part was just putting

it on and taking it off, because she fussed so much. But I found

myself kissing her little head anyway(through the opening) and she's

actually pretty cute in it. Got some stares on our way out of the

office, but that didn't bother me much either.

I hope it all goes well when your baby gets her Star band!! Good

luck and know that she'll thank you for it someday! =)

You are not crazy....everyone handles it differently. When Zach got

his I just kept looking at him. I didn't cry- but I had already

prepared myself for the fitting. There is no reason to feel guilty

in my opinion. You didn't " let " it get worse- the odds were stacked

against you since she has tort and the other things we talked

about. The good news is that you are being proactive and are

getting her banded. I am glad you saw and things went well.

Just wait- once you get the band and get it looking all girly- it

will be fun. And like I said before- it seems to be harder on the

parents than the kids. And think of all the trips to the ER you

will avoid when she starts to toddle!

God Bless and call me if you need to vent/chat/ask :)

I have to say that these groups are wonderful and you are all making me feel

much more sane. I don't know how I would handle this wihtout such a great

support network. God Bless The Plagio group!
