I'm sorry Debbie, I wasn't ignoring you, I'm still pre-op and couldn't

answer. Post it again and I'm sure someone here will help, or you could try

the MGB post-op site if you're post-op.

Last week I posted 2 messages to this site; one about my own post-op

symptoms and another requesting information about MGB and individuals

with highly demanding jobs (did they mix OK?).

I received one reply to my message (thanks ), and none regarding

my other request. Don't know what this means. Topic not interesting

enough? No suggestions? Didn't bother to read? Not one of the

'group'?

I am new to this list, but from my experiences on the many email lists I've

been on, if someone doesn't know the answer to your question, usually they

just will not reply at all. This list generates a LOT of mail as it is; if

everyone answered with an " I don't know " to everything they don't know the

answer to, there would be a lot of wasteful emails. Just my experience....

Post the questions again. Sometimes a post can get overlooked, because

of the high volume of mail here -- 200-300 messages a day some days!

And sometimes the reply gets missed for the same reason.

:)

Dear Debbie,

My internet service has been out for a week at home and I can rarely

get a chance to read or respond to the site while at work. Don't

ever

feel left out, just jump up and down and someone will answer.

On the queasy topic, I'm one day shy of 1 month post op and have

never

been queasy, nauseuous or vomited. My only suggestion would be to

nibble on some crackers. I don't really know, though. le was

very queasy and it turned out (so far) to be hormonal.

As for your daughter, the majority of post-ops are older than 22, as

I

am (41 yrs. old). But, here's my spin on the demanding job side of

things. I would suggest the surgery is scheduled when your daughter

has at least 3 weeks to adjust without school or work (summer?). The

first 2 weeks post-op you are just learning how much liquids to drink

and figuring out what medicines to take. It would be tough trying to

juggle that and work or go to school. The 3rd week is when you can

begin to add foods. That's when I went back to work. While I am

doing great, I do not have 100% of my energy back yet. There are

still times when I could use a nap, especially by Thursday or Friday.

(It's possible hubby's new sleep apnea machine is keeping me awake at

night and I'm overtired). My job is demanding, but I have a

wonderful

boss and a lot of support. I wouldn't want to start a new job at

this

time in my recovery.

Hope you are feeling better. Hope your daughter decides to go

forward.

Sincerely,

Bernardine

Where are these pre and post op sites? I must have missed the memo.

Best of luck with your surgery...

Hi Debbie: Can you post again. Some folks get their mail web only, some just

don't have an

answer for you..re highly demanding jobs...not everyone has one or has a take on

that. Some

folks are on vacation and aren't getting mail.

Please post again and I'm sure if someone has any info. on the topics you asked

about, they'll

chime in! If you're reading this and if you are on this site, you're one of the

" group " . One of

the last acceptable prejudices in society today is the prejudice against fat

people...which we

are...and you will find us the most accepting group you ever came across. We are

inclusive,

not exclusive...

Sorry you didn't get an answer. I didn't see your post but wouldn't have

commented on the

demanding job question (although I did have one before I retired) since I am

now retired and

spend my days being a slug....LOL.

I'm sorry no one else replied but as for me, I didn't identify with either.

Sorry, you are not being ignored.

My advice? Don't take it personally!! There aren't any " groups " here except

one big supporting one. I don't have a highly demanding job right now except

for 3 kids..lol..so I can't answer your question. If you don't get an answer

the first time..just ask again and say that no one answered you the first

time. Sometimes people think that Oh someone else has probably already

written back..or whatever.

This is a group full of all kinds of different knowledge!!
