It is true that most shirts can fit over, and I have also picked out specific types of shirts to ensure they do. There are shirts with snaps on one shoulder which are so great! I also only remove his helmet one time per day. If that works for you, it is so much easier to do it just for the bath:) I haven't had the issue with my son spreading food everywhere (yet), but that got me thinking. Weird suggestion, but could a person put a shower cap over the helmet at meal time for easy clean up? Just a wacky thought, not sure if the size would work....
