Guest guest
Sorry, Culturelle is not SCD legal. Patti Culturelle? I read on another group a recommendation to use Culturelle acidophilus on SCD. Is this legal? It would be great if it is, b/c it's easily found in drugstores near me (in MA) and doesn't need to be refrigerated. The poster noted that there are two different kinds, and only the yellow box was SCD legal. The ingredients are: Microcrystaliine Cellulose 170 mg*Lactobacilllus GG 10 billion cells** 10 *Casein*** <.01 mg*Whey*** <.01 mg*Gelatin Capsule 75 mg* Thanks, Ellen 8.5 year old dd dx'ed w. It containe ingredients that are not good for us, among them inulin. Lactobacillus GG is grown on whey and will contain trace levels (less than 15 parts per million per capsule) of casein and whey, which are proteins found in milk. Ingredients: inulin (chicory root extract), Lactobacillus GG, gelatin (the capsule).I am sorry. http://www.pecanbread.com/supplements.html Above is a list of legal and illegal supplements etc. > > Carol F. Guest guest
Hi Carol, Thank you so much for the detailed response. I think the ingredient list you posted is for the other Culturelle that is, of course, not legal due to the inulin. Thanks for the supplement list. Guest guest
Hi Ellen, Sorry, but this is illegal. It is illegal because of the bacteria listed Lactobacillus GG. Elaine recommended only for SCDers to use L. acidophilus (maximum of 3 billion CFU's/day) if they were using probiotics. I didn't know that Culturelle were making 2 versions. Unfortunately, this one is also illegal. Sheila, SCD 2/01, UC 22yrs mom of and > > I read on another group a recommendation to use Culturelle acidophilus on SCD. Is this legal?
