I have been tld it can be from a magnesium deficiency. However minerals have to be balanced in supplements. I was taking calcium, magnesium and " D " for a while but am not at present. Guest guest
my youngest and myself suffer from terrible cramps, one thing i did find alleviated it in my youngster was ensuring he had at least 6 almond/pecan butter cakes or equivalaent a day, as long as he has that quota on scd hes pretty much fine, i know some people may feel that might be too much, but it seems to fulfil his needs, certainly if he needs to build up mineral stores as well what his compromised body is using. i think i need to build my stores up, because that amount doesnt seem to touch me, guess i must need to eat much more - wonderful excuse!! we're scd 2nd time round and on day 9, im just starting to introduce small amounts of nut butter into his foods now, because last time by the 3rd week he was screaming every night with cramp, and this pretty much continued until i built him to that amount of cakes, so im trying to get in early - healing allowed of course, to try and stem some of it. hth emma kai 8 asd/dspx fian 3 behaviuorally recovered scd 9 days 2nd time around > > > Hello, > > > > I have been on the SCD diet almost 1 month now. Guest guest
Calcium and magnesium are usually recommended for muscle twitching and leg cramps. That probably explains why the almond butter helps... it's high in both, I think. Guest guest
Being hydrated is very important to keep leg cramps at bay. If you drink 1 oz of water for every 2 lbs of weight you are you will stay well hydrated. Someone who weighs 120 # should drink 60 oz of water. If you drink coffee or tea you may need to up this as these will dehydrate you. Sandy M. > > > > > Hello, > > > > > > I have been on the SCD diet almost 1 month now.
