Hello!

I found a program on the arthritis foundation's website, called

PACE. IT stands for People w/ arthritis can exercise, and it has a

water aerobics class in different areas, specifically for people who

suffer with joint pain. You may want to see if it's in your area. I

think that the web site allowed me to type in my local information

and it gave me a contact. Good luck!

Liz/Carol- re: <maybe five to ten pounds weight loss can help your general sugar control. >> Every 5-10 lbs we can take off also decreases the stress to one's knee joints and lower back. I've found that daily exercise kills my appetite for hours. It also makes me thirsty and drinking lots of water is not only filling but required with a lot of the medications we injest. I truly hope that in 3 months our email chats will focus on how much better we are all feeling.

Have a lovely weekend.

Exercise Re: Carol, yes you are right about the core exercises Re: these are most important, and as you say, you can do Re: exercises sitting down to strengthen your muscles Re: before you start doing anything else. Oh, isn't this Re: exciting! An an extra point for those unfortunate Re: enough to have diabetes also, even 5-10 minutes can Re: help get your sugar levels down, and a weight loss of Re: maybe five to ten pounds weight loss can help your Re: general sugar control. Re: Re: Good luck everyone. Re: Re: Love Liz Re: Re: __________________________________________________ Re:

I have a none impact swing walker so weather is never a problem. And T is going to use my Treadmill .LOL Yup, we talked about it and now she has to do it too. LOL Now aren't you guys glad you don't leave so close to me.?? LOL

The woman is NOT too fat!!!!! I should be so lucky as to have her figure!

Well, looks like my neighbor has volunteered me to start on this endeavor. I HATE exercising. Yes, I do feel better when I do it, but I still hate it. It's just a problem of getting out there and doing it. But, okay, add me to the group. With you all supporting me and doing it yourselves, I WILL DO THIS!!

Thanks, Heidi....NOT!

Love you (really),

T.

hey all, I have wanted to start walking for so long but with my bad knee and my asthma its been a very slow to nonexistent walk, But I do have one of those things that Heidi (I believe it was she) sent a pic of her on and will try to start doing that. But having to take care of the home life with 2 teens, a mom and 5 dogs, 2 cats and 5 birds plus myself and the cooking and cleaning (the girls help me with this one); and then having to be a chauffer. I cannot even keep my energy level up to do much else. I don't have insurance right now and that is real hard, I do have enough medicine for 4 more mths though and hopefully something will come up so I can keep my meds up. My prayers go out to each of you and I know I don't get on very often lately as I have been very tired. but know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers daily. Susiecue this isn't the downhill end you will turn around and that's that...... so keep chin up I have to and so do each and everyone of you. Live life to live.............. That's what my brother did and hi lived 18 yrs with AIDS. Just keep the prayers going and coming. Tc all.. LOVE ya'll Barbara aka bj

But the swing walker sounds excellent for the the knee

problem, as it is no-impact and I find that when I

exercise it helps clear my chest; it's a good idea to

take a couple of puffs of albuterol before you start,

and as you build up the minutes, you should feel

better with any luck - go for it! Love Liz

so its hard to walk outside but once Spring comes,

hubby and I will walk then and can also do that too.

Another thing that will help all of us is to park at the far end of the

parking lot and walk to the store. That is a simple way to get in

some exercise.

Crystal,

That is such good advice, and it really is so simple to do. We

have all outdoor malls here, several discount shopping centers.

I love to park at one end and walk all the way through.

Remember, I'm the one who will only shop for less than 30

minutes, so I rarely even go into any of the stores, or have to

carry around an armload of shopping bags. But I do accomplish

a lot of window shopping and exercise just by walking through

the malls.

It's great to see you feeling so well and posting again. I hope

everything continues along so well for you.

With hope and prayers,

Heidi
