Guest guest
Welcome to the group. The clubbing probably won't be too noticable. It shouldn't effect his ability to write. Good luck and I am happy to hear that Caleb is doing so well! Gale Grandma to Abby (20 months with CF) > Hello everyone we are newbies to this group. > I am a mommy raising a son with cf. Guest guest
Hi, Welcome to the group. I am wondering about the clubbing. Is this the first time they have mentioned it to you? My daughter doesn't have any clubbing as yet but I understand that it is very common for kids and adults with CF to have some clubbing. She is checked for it every time we go to clinic. Has his pulse ox level been ok? As I understand it they clubbing may have to do with not getting enough oxygen at some point, it gradually results in clubbing of the fingers and toes, I don't remember why. It should not effect his motor skills at all. Some people have clubbing and no CF. hello we are newbies Hello everyone we are newbies to this group. I am a mommy raising a son with cf. He is 4 and VERY healthy. I had a cousin who had cf and was sick all the time, but my Caleb just shocks me he is so healthy. We found out he had cf when he was 1 1/2 years old. He has some delays, but not alot. I got online tonight trying to find some answers to a question. We went to clinic today our every 3 month trip. And when we were there and Caleb was getting checked out the doctor noticed his fingers where clubbing. And my question is does anyone else have a child who has clubbed fingers? and if so what happens to their fingers? Does it effect them alot? Will it effect his ability to write and diffrent things like that? The doctor was kinda preoccupied today and I didn't get to ask him all these questions. feel free to e-mail me.
