Guest guest
Bernie, Don't forget the yogurt........it's really good at combating yeast infections. Once you start eating watermelon it will help you with the liquids.....use lots of salt. I'm glad you're doing so well. Guest guest
Hey Bern, I don't even have the problems your having!!!!!!!!!! I don't think Dr R really did my surgery after all. I think he stabbed me five times for target practice and sent me home!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am doing way better than every body else but I'm not sure I'm loosing weight! Can't weigh, scales won't weigh me consistent at home, I'm tooooooooooo fat still!!!!!!! I've had no problem with the drinking, I nibble crackers and sip water constantly! Hey maybe that's my secret????????? Crackers are salty, make you drink and keep nausea away!! I've even started on different flavored crackers! Chicken in a Biskit are real salty! And maybe this keeps me from the hungry headache????? Maybe someone can benefit from this! Guest guest
My PCP said I don't have to swallow the nystatin, thank > goodness. > > If you check your post op scripts, Dr. Rutledge gave you a script for pills for yeast infection. I can't remember what it is called but it worked well because there is no way I needed to swish more yuck stuff. He said it was more expensive but I had insurance for meds and I wouldn't have cared anyways. Jane McShane MGB 3/20/00 250 /
Guest guest
Bern, I tried to call got your answering machine. What do you mean start crackers already???????? Girl, I've followed my discharge instructions to the letter!!!!!!!!! I almost have them memorized. The last sentence of the first paragraph under IX Your Diet says: Your postoperative diet should consist mainly of fruit and vegetable juices, Gatorade and different types of soups. Saltine crackers are also a good choice. Then in the second paragraph near the bottom is says: Salty soups such as chicken noodle soup are good choices early after surgery! Maybe your instructions were different from mine, but I am flying high! No problems what so ever! I keep wondering if Dr R really did my surgery! Oh yeah, I tried some boiled potatoes mashed up and cooked to death for supper, caused a little discomfort, maybe I ate them too fast! Took my tums and I'm back in the saddle again!!! ) ) Can't wait to talk, Guess I need to get off the computer huh!! Guest guest
Hi Rosemary, Can't wait to talk with you, too! I was taking a long " siesta " when you called. What I meant about the crackers was you are brave to eat the Chicken in a Bisket and the flavored crackers. I haven't eaten the saltines, yet. You obviously are feeling more peppy than me, so I'm going to give it a try! I thought we had to wait until day 14 to eat any " soft foods " . So, I was waiting until Monday for the soft stuff. I want to give my belly the longest time to heal. Hope to talk soon. Bern > > > Hey Bern, > > > I don't even have the problems your having!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
Bern, Hope the crackers don't give you problems, I'd hate to be the one that said go for it and then you have problems! But in all honesty, I can't tell I've had the surgery except for the " wounds " ! I still think Dr. R just used me for dart practice!!! ) I feel great! I even took my kids school shopping today and didn't end up with any casualties! ( Is that spelled right?) Talk with as soon as we can meet up!
