Hi all,

I just wanted to make a suggestion to the pre-ops Guys and gals don't

stock up on everything before surgery, but just a few of what you want to

try. Your tummy will like some things and not others. And it is such a

waste, you will go out and buy 15 yogurts because you are going to east them

everyday however your tummy might not like the flavor and I can guarantee you

will not be eating more than one a day at first. I bought enough for an army

and it was just wasted. Experiment and go shopping more it's good exercise

too.. :).

I will tell you a little story. After my Surgery I stayed with Rick and Janet

Armour wonderful, sweet people we all had surgery within 2 weeks of each

other. My 4th day out Rick said hey IM going to make some deviled eggs and

we can hang out and watch movies. Well, Janet and my job was to prepare them

(Rick boiled them). We were talking and peeling and cutting then I noticed

wow there are a lot of eggs. I said Janet are you sending some to the

neighbors? look how many eggs are here 18. Rick boiled 18 eggs! There were

3 of us that could only eat one half egg. We laughed so hard because before

surgery we could probably eat a few each and them some later. So the point

is your mind takes time to catch up with your new way of living. Less is

more. This takes a long time to get used to. Even 8 weeks out I was at a

buffet With Amy Poe and not thinking we both picked up the largest plate. Amy

said so her food wouldn't' touch heehee Yea right. Any way just my 2 cents.

Be patient and kind with yourselves.

Trish darling,

That really is so so

funny. I just cannot seem to reach for small anything. I don't know if I will

ever get the hang of it. I still fill a whole bowl of soup. I am trying to

learn to buy Small things. It really is a hard thing to do. A cereal bowl of

soup last me 2 days LOL. It is soooooo weird still! Oh well, I just had to

comment because It drives me crazy every day!!!! Hugsssssss Margie Sc :0)

Trish,

You are so right here! I hope some of the pre-ops heed your warning. My

kids are about gorged out on Jell-o, yogurt and juice (grape and apple) I

bought plenty before thinking I'd need it and now post op don't even like

grape or apple juice! I can't seem to eat the Jell-o either, fills me up,

like a bloating feeling! I wanted my kids to eat healthier but I think this

was the wrong way don't you??

Really pre-ops be prepared for a different set of taste buds along with the

new baby tummy!
