Guest guest
Hi. I have a question. My son is PDD and is underweight and has sparse hair on his head. The nutritionist and pediatrician have suggested a custom made weight-gain powder. The pharmacist says he has been working with doctors and has a brown rice based (and I think it also has brown rice syrup in it) powder all ready to go. I said I didn't think he should have brown rice. He then suggested a whey protein powder or an egg powder. Does anyone have an idea of which is better? Is brown rice allowed in this form? Or, does anyone know of anything else? Broderick has been gluten free/casein free and also on SCD since 9/05 and is doing well so I don't want to do anything wrong at this stage. Also - does Inositol help with hair growth? should I include some of it in his powder? And a big Thank you to the person who said that Glutamine causes brain damage. The nutritionist researched it and said that yes, in the presence of neurological deficits, glutamine further damages brain function while supplemented. I stopped it before the research confirmation. THANK YOU! , mom to broderick, ASD, SCD since 9/
