Normal or slightly elevated enzymes in PD

Here is a quote from an article published in " Surgical Clinics of

North America " April 2001 authored by Seth Cohen and Jerome

Siegel. Article titled: Pancreas Divisum: Endoscopic Therapy.

I thought it was interesting at pertinent to the question regarding

normal lipase and amylase levels.

" Acute pancreatitis in patients with divisum tends to be mild and

presents with only modest elevations of amylase "

Something else that I bet the majority of ER docs and GIs are not

aware of.
