Guest guest
I am looking to start the SCD with my boys....all 3 have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. I am finding that a lot of the recipes call for 2 things that one of my sons is highly sensitive to: Almonds and Egg Whites. Can any other nut flour or nuts be substituted for almonds? Maybe walnuts or pecans? My son is also highly sensitive to cashews and peanuts. What about the eggs? Can something else be substituted in recipes that will not change the outcome of the meal i.e breads, cakes, muffins? Thanks for any feedback! Guest guest
Yes, ... absolutely! In fact, that's precisely why this list is called " pecanbread " . Many kids here can't do almonds. There are some great recipes... including quite a few eggless ones.... on the website, www.pecanbread.com in the " Recipes " section. Patti SCD substitutions??
