Guest guest
Mindi, My daughter got her second DOC band last Monday and for the first few days it also slid down to the front right side of her head. It annoyed me too but it is not sliding anymore, 10 days later. So, I think that it is normal but also, once it stops sliding, and it will, it also means that she is growing into it (which is what you want to see happen). He first band was a plagio band and I couldn't kiss her head either or even worse stroke her hair. She is now in a brachy band and it is more open on the top so I actually manage to kiss her a little more every now and then. The best thing I can do is kiss her a lot during the hour that it's off, and she loves it... As for butting heads with her helmet, you just learn to keep your distance from it! If the band is pushing against her ear, I would call CT and see what they have to say and what they can do about it. Maysa's ortho had to shave a little of around one of her ears at the follow up fit appointment. She's slept through the night for the past two nights and doesn't really seem to be too bothered by her helmet. Is it normal for it to shift a bit? I feel like it moves down close to one of her eyes and pushes on her ear a little bit. Again, it doesn't seem to bother her, but it drives me nuts. Anyone else? Also, how do you, as a parent, adjust to not being able to kiss her forehead or even see her eyes when she's sitting on the floor? And how many of you have been head-butted? ! That's a fun one! :)She's been great and seems to be her normal happy self, but I'm a normal worried parent. Help to put my mind at ease!!Mindi
Guest guest
Our son Jacksen received his DOC Band on Monday, too! I've been head butted many times already and he popped me good once in the nose. OUCH! : )Jacksen isn't bothered by his band either. It does shift sometimes. Our clinician at CT said that if you imagine a quarter in between his eyes/forehead that the "middle point" of the band could shift left to right within the size range of a quarter. The "middle point" of your daughters band could be off. I would definitely bring up the issue at your next appointment.
