Quick update on DJ

Well, I'm home for a little bit. Mark got home from work, took his shower,

ate some leftover pizza and came over and relieved me. I have sat here

doing some research on kidney problems and trying to figure out what could

be happening with my little peanut. After this e-mail, I'm going to try to

just rest for an hour or so, and then head back over to the hospital so Mark

can come home and get some sleep before work tomorrow.

I am SOOOOOO tired!! Poor DJ was up most of the night throwing up and

having a high fever and a severe headache, along with his kidney pain. He

hasn't gotten any better throughout the day, either. My mother instincts

have so far never been wrong with my kids and illness, and something just

doesn't feel right with this. I'm really scared, actually. He has been

running a fever off and on of over 104 degrees, and with it he has a really

severe headache--so bad he just cries and cries. He is on IV fluids and IV

antibiotics, but they still have no " real " idea what's wrong with him. He

has blood in his urine and is anemic, has major pain in his right kidney

area, has pain urinating, but shows no signs of a UTI. But now today, he

also has major abdominal pain that causes him to cry, too, and his headache

has REALLY kicked in. He has been sleeping on and off throughout the day.

They gave him morphine last night, but now are only giving him Tylenol,

which isn't doing much for him, not even for the fever. It will help for

about 2 hours with the fever, and will maybe bring it down to 102, but

that's about it. I feel as though the doctors are being just way too

" blase " about this, except for the resident. He did a very, very thorough

examination and history, and is concerned also. I also found out that his

chest x-rays last night showed a possibility of pneumonia, although they

didn't verify that, either. I'm wondering if it could be actually being

caused by his asthma. I left for 45 minutes this afternoon while he was

sleeping to run home and clean up a bit, and of COURSE, the urologist came

in while I was gone!!! I'm going to have to push for answers again

tomorrow, I guess.

Well, I'm exhausted. I'm going to go back over to the hospital instead of

laying down--I think if I lay down now, I WON'T get back up!

Later, all

It always seems that the Dr. comes in the second we leave. We could be there

for days and you walk out once and the Dr. comes in. What my friend has done

was left a HUGE note with herr cell phone # and advised the Dr. to call her

when he came in.

Some will some won't ....

I hope you and DJ feel better soon!
