Yes, I had that problem *really* that bad. It *does* improve, a LOT, by about 3 mos., however, you can bring it on again by eating things with a lot of fat in them. What helped me a lot was to eat salad made out of lettuce, sliced brocolli (comes in a package called " broccoli coleslaw " along with sliced carrots, sliced cauliflower. I got it at Walmart). Once I started eating that once a day, it just about cured the problem. But if I eat anything that causes dumping (i.e., high sugar/dairy like ice cream) or if I eat something with a lot of fat in it, wheweee!!!! > > A side story on that . . Guest guest
, I think you can have a whole team unto yourself! LOL I'm dying laughing about your son. That is too funny. Hey, did anyone else notice the RR (restroom) and RR ( Rutledge)??? Hmmmm... Buy some air freshener!!! Amy. Hi! Update for 4 weeks Hi Everyone . . I ahve been gone for 4 days and I returned to a HUGE list of e-mail!!! WOW! I didnt realize how much I read in 1 day until 4 days are plopped in! Goodness, I can't imagine being gone a week or 2! Whew! Anyway, today is my 4 weeks (not 1 month, but 4 weeks) post-op date and I am feeling GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have lost 29 lbs. I am sooo happy. I had been stuck between 21-23 for about a week, then I went away and came back to my scale (which was calling me like fudge used to) and I hopped on to find in 4 days I had lost 6 more lbs . . YIPPEE I may make the 30 lbs. average after all! I have thrown up a couple of times, but most of the time it is meat. If I eat meat as quickly as I eat other food, I have to " get rid " of it. I do not throw up like when you have the flu, rather it is like I realize my stomach is too full (and I can FEEL the heaviness) and I just open my outh and spit it right back out. Really wierd! I have had no prob at all with baked pork chops and grilled ribs, but with chicken and 1 time beef it was bad! I had dumping 1 time with peanut butter .,. . now I stay the heck away! I eat all day long . . .I mean to tell you all day long! Ican eat absolutely anything I want, I just have really tiny portions of it and most fatty fodds just are gross. I always do the " poison test " for my son and husband, and that tiny taste is more than I want!!!! I never ever would have thought . . . The really embarassing thing, though, is the gas and bowel movements. Wow. My husband says " Double Wow. " He wants me to ask how normal this is, even after I reassured him I had read of others having this problem and he doesn't believe everyone could have it this bad! He wants me to e-mail Dr. Rutledge to ask why in the world my gas and poop is so horribly stinky. I told him I didn't think Dr. R would appreciate that kind of an e-mail in addition to his 500!!!! So, I am asking you all now (and Dr. R if you are reading) do you all have HORRIBLE " stinkies " (as my son calls them) and does anyone know WHY?? We eat less for Heaven's sake! A side story on that . . I had to rush to the RR in K-mart the othe day with my son (which I don't know how I am going to last 80 min. class periods when school is back in session) and I had to take my 3 yr old. I didn't want him where I couldn't see him so he had to come in the stall with me. There were other people in the RR including someone next door, and all my son kept saying was " Mommy, you are so stinky.. Oh Mommy, it is rotten. Mommy let me out of here " Can you imagine what the other women were thinking! HAHA Out of the mouths of babes, right!?!!!?? Anyway, I go to my Dr. Monday afternoon for my officvial 1 month check-up , but i am doing GREAT . . . 3 more days of carafate! WOOOOO hOOOOOO L.
