i'm not sure about the memory foam, but what you're describing sounds like she may have a touch of torticollis. have you thought about seeing a physical therapist? tort and plagio often go hand in hand. we take our son alex every other week now and it's helping tremendously. they can also teach you some little exercises to do at home.

as for why they wait ... i've wondered that myself. i'm guessing it has something to do with insurance. many places want you to try repositioning and pt before they give you the plagio diagnosis and refer you to a cranial reshaping orthotist.

older...why would we wait till it gets worse?

To try to help her head we decided to put a 1 and 1/2 inch memory

foam in her crib. It is the exact size of the mattress and is under a

waterproof sheet as well as the regular sheet, which presses the foam

down quite a bit. We think that this may help reduce pressure, but I

am nervous. Is this safe? (She is not rolling over yet)

We are trying very hard to keep her from wearing the band..do you think

we are doing the right things??

Thanks for the response! I was told she does not have the torticollis because when awake she looks in both directions and were not given any exercises. Any recommendations? Thanks again!
