Guest guest
Pam, I have a lap gallbladder surgery and a regular appexcitis scar. My surgery date is a week from thursday. I know it will take him abit longer due to adhesions.
Guest guest
Hi Pam, I am a post-op as of Aug. 10, 2000. I am pretty sure you can still have the surgery. I had a c-section (up and down) and an open gall bladder removal. I have an enormous scare. Dr. R. was still able to do the surgery. It took longer though - 82 min. instead of 30-40. I had no complications and feel great. Got my staples out today. Your risk will be higher, but still extremely low. If you would like to email me personally, my address is sherrymar1@.... I will give you my phone number if you'd like it. I live in Cary, NC. Sherry

Guest guest
Thanks you for the reply. It seems I have turned into a worrier since I started this journey. There might be some scar tissue that would make the surgery longer from the gallbladder surgery, but I know many people have had the MGB after they have had their gallbladder removed. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi Pam, I know that people have had the MGB who had c-sections (including me). My c-section was an up and down incision inside on the uterus and a side to side incision on the outside (strange, I guess, but I had a breech premie and they wanted more room to get her out of the uterus with the least possible trauma to her, they said). I also know that several people have had lap gall bladder removal and have had the MGB. I think in that case it has sometimes caused them to have a little longer surgery time, depending on the amount of scar tissue. The best thing to do would be to email Dr. R and ask him about it, but from what I know, I think you can have the MGB even having had those surgeries. Good luck to you! Guest guest
Hi Pam ! I was at the clinic last Tuesday and I saw Dr. Rutledge. I too have an up and down c-section scar. He seemed to think it would be okay. I think (from what he said) it depends on how high the scar goes. Mine is just beneath my belly button. I'm not sure about the gall bladder removal. Hope this helps.
