Guest guest
Thanks as I did not have numbers, I just knew it was more common in adults. I think my daughter gets checked yearly, they do complete bloodwork annually. so I guess we are OK. At the center we used to go to they never checked blood, no vitamin levels, no nothing, unless they suspected a problem, so you might make sure your center is checking labs yearly. love, M mom of Nick age 21 nocf and age 19 wcf Re: CFRD??? > I heard an Endocrinologist speak earlier this year. He happens to treat many CF patients. According to his notes, the prevalence of CFRD (Cystic Fibrosis Related Diabetes) is as follows: > > 9% of CF children > 26% of adolescents > 35% of adults age 20-29 > 43% of adults age 30 or older > > I was suprised to learn that the rate was so high for kids. We were originally told we did not have to worry about diabetes until my son was early 20's. So we all do need to keep on top of the glucose testing. > > Best Wishes, > > , mom to son 3 years old with CF
