Guest guest
Hi Pat: My name is Sue Staniec aka Susiecue. I was diagnosed in Sept. of 2001. All fall & winter last year (2000) my cheek bones & nose were red, swollen & very sore & they tried to say I had rosacea which I didn't. it was part of the RP process. They ran all kinds of autoimmune tests all of which came back negative which is common. When my RP was finally discovered in Sept. it was because of ear flares which sound a lot like you were having. My right ear became red, hot, swollen, extremely painful & had what I call blisters on it. It lasted about three weeks until I finally gave in & started resting. I also am having lower back pain. I can barely stand more than five minutes without excrutiating pain. Just wanted to let you know that I & many others have the same symptoms so you are not alone. This is a great group & you'll find that someone out there can answer your questions. Wishing you luck with your new rheumy.
