Guest guest
giving fruit at the end of a meal allows the fruit to ferment on top of the other food in the stomach, this can cause lots of toxic waste in the stomach and loads of bad bacteria getting into the intestiens. Fruit should be eaten by itself or 1/2 and hour before a meal. O'Neill Medical herbalist New Zealand Mum to Liam wcf 11 months Re: introduction and comments on diet in cf > Thanks for the info. Guest guest
, That's interesting. But I think I'm confused. Don't the French traditionally eat fruit and cheese at the end of a meal? And if fruit at the end of a meal causes fermentation problems, then do the French typically have greater digestive problems? Or does eating cheese with fruit cancel out the end-of-meal fementation issue you spoke of? Someone wrote (can't remember who) that their child might be showing lactose intolerance problems. Some people need an additional type of enzyme for help digesting milk and that enzyme isn't included in the enzymes like Pancrease, Ultrase, Creon, etc. So if you're seeing some lactose problems you might try LactAid or buy acidolphilus milk to see if it helps. Before my son was diagnosed with CF, he started showing lactose intolerance so I bought LactAid drops to put in his milk and it worked like a charm. But after CF diagnosis when he started using Pancrease, he no longer needed the LactAid. But some people need both. Digestion actually begins in the mouth. Enzymes are secreted there to begin breaking down carbs, so if your kids aren't chewing well (and what toddler does?) then this impedes digestion even if you give them enzymes. It's worth a try, you might see some digestive improvement if you sit with your toddler at meal and snack times and remind them to " Chew, chew, chew. Guest guest
Hi Kim!!!! Got the lema oil and I'm ready to use it, but I need your help, because I do not know how to. We finally got our house and our lives, sort of back together. For almost two weeks I did not work and that's been the hardest thing, to get all that stuff back on track, on top of that it was end of the month, very hard, indeed. Well, Kim my dad was from Italy and he always ate fruits after eating his meal, italians do not eat dessert per se, they always eat fruits and cheese, in fact the word dessert does not exist in italian. I am just telling what I have learnt and also experienced. Good luck to you all what ever way you eat your fruit and cheese. LOL Re: sara > , > > That's interesting. But I think I'm confused. Guest guest
Yes, both of my brothers-in law (who are from Spain and Venezuela), say that fruit is a desert instead of a sweet or rich thing. Just think of all those lunch room apples and oranges we were given as kids instead of twinkies! , I really hope all is going well, I have kept you family in my " Special thoughts " since I heard about the situation. Glad to hear that you are all back home and safe! Re: sara Hi Kim!!!! Got the lema oil and I'm ready to use it, but I need your help, because I do not know how to. Guest guest
Hi , Wow, you got the Lema oil so quickly! How does it smell? I remember taking a whiff of CoastBio's Fraction 8 manuka oil and thinking " Yuck! This would kill anything! " But said he thinks the smell is not that bad. The way uses the essential oils is to boil some water either on the stove or in the microwave. Then pour it into a glass bowl and add a couple drops of the oil, then inhale the vapors for about five minutes or until the vapors cool. Some people like to put a towel over their head. isn't one of those people... and neither am I! When I'm in a hurry, I just open the bottle and wave it a few inches from nose (you can also do this while traveling on an airplane to protect yourself from bad airplane air). But I think the water-bath method is good for people with lung and sinus issues because it also adds some moisture to the tissues. Okay, so now, I have a question... if the word dessert doesn't exist in Italian, then when do you eat chocolate chip cookies, cheesecake, and ice cream?!! And if they really don't eat dessert in Italy, then pooh! I'm crossing it off my list of future honeymoon spots (should that day ever come!). Okay... my new favorite TV show is back on so I'm outta here! Has anyone seen the new program " Queer Eye for the Straight Guy? " OMG... it's so funny and fun to watch! I learn something new and useful every show but those five guys make it so fun to watch! Kim --- " Palazola " <annapalazola@y...> wrote: Hi Kim!!!! Guest guest
Thank you Kim! Thi Lema oil kind smells like alcanphor it is quiet strong. Well, my husband will like the part about the airplane smell, he hates inside airplanes air. You know italians do not like things too sugary. A good Tiramisu is usually a little bitter because of the strong coffee, gelato is not too sweet, crostatta, which is the version of the american pie, usually is with fresh fuit, my aunt used to sprinkle sugar because she knew I liked it sweet. Bacis, the italian counterpart of american kisses are made with bittersweet chocolate, so on and so forth. But, my favorite italian candy is called Rossana and it is made by Peruggina the makers of Bacis, which I think is now owned by nestle, it is a hard candy made with a soft inside made of almonds, boy they are good. Now, the only dessert my dad loved was " flan " , which is not italian, he could it flan like there was no tomorrow, otherwise cakes and desserts did not suit him. One of my most vivid memories of my dad was, everyday when he came home from work, he would stop at the local open market and get fresh cheese and fruits, and we would it them at diner time. Well, love to all of you. mom of a 10 wcf, Venanzio 7 nocf, Pepe 3 nocf > Hi Kim!!!! > > Got the lema oil and I'm ready to use it, but I need your help, > because I do not know how to.
