Guest guest
Dear Pearl, I do not know if this will help or not. We had to cut out the dry curd because of little red pimples on my sons bottom and in his case it came also with ADHD behavior coming back/getting worse. Just sharing, don't know for sure. Maybe someone does. I would cut out...not back/ and reintroduce in two weeks. This is what Elaine suggests. One of my more hyper kids and verrrrrry short attention span now has a cluster of 6 pimple like things on her right bottom cheek. They actually look like pimples that would be on your face but on her bottom. We eat everything thats legal. We went berry picking 2 days ago she had more then we would normally have. Do any of you think it's as simple as that? And to cut back? Or is it something else? Thanks as always. Pearl > Pearl, It is logical to supsect that too many strawberries could produce such a rash. Strawberries are one of the foods most commonly associated with allergic reactions. I would really be quite surprised if this were from Dry Curd Cottage Cheese if it was tolerated before. Carol F. Guest guest
Hi Pearl, If nothing else changed then it probably was from the berry. It can happen to anyone who overindulges, which is especially difficult with all the tempting fruit this time of year. If the pimples don't clear shortly you can try an epsom salt bath. If behaviours regress pull back to more simpler foods for a day or so to help flush the system. Sheila, SCD 2/01, UC 22yrs mom of and > We have been doing scd as a family for 2 years. It is more likely her problem came from consuming too many berries. At first I also made an assumption too --she was feeding strawberries but it turns out other varieties can trigger a reaction, among them blueberries and blackberries. One should find out what the affected individual is eating before suggesting they remove a food. It would be a shame to give others concerns over DCCC a very nutritious, lactose free, low fat and high protein food that is a good source of calcium, espcially when newbies here are often worried about using dairy! Reply: Goodness no, I would never want to do that! To let those know: WE ARE GOING TO TRY THE DRY CURD AGAIN in TWO WEEKS! Just like the BTVC book suggests, when one has a problem or reaction to a food try in two weeks. Hope this helps those newbies that fear the dairy! WE came casien free and can now tolerate the SCD yogurt and 30+ day fermented legal cheeses! The dry curd cause ONLY my son a problem...red pimples on his bum and strange behavior. Like I shared also, our phenol salycilate problem and many other sensitivites are gone too. WE can now do goat and bovine SCD yogurt too! For those we have improved on we have no more reactions, behavior, phsysical or otherwise. So much improvement! Guest guest
My daughter on SCD has this too and cannot do the dry curd cottage cheese, so in her case it certainly is not that. I notice it gets better when I don't give her the watered down grape juice. Sahr > > > > We have been doing scd as a family for 2 years.
