Guest guest
Hey Patty, Isn't that the way it always is....that we start to crow too soon about our good days? Oftentimes I'm afraid to say I'm doing good, because as soon as I do, I'm jinxed and it starts back up again. I'm so sorry for you! I hope you can get in to see the doctor today, instead of having to wait until Monday. You should not have to go through this weekend in pain! You probably should have stayed home to rest, too, instead of going to work. But I know how that is.... Don't let the nurse at the doctor's office sluff you off today. Is there any way that you could leave work early and go to the doctor's office? I had to do that once, I was having a bad episode, on a Friday, and the nurse kept stalling, saying the doctor would call back. So finally at 3:00 p.m. I went to the doctor's office and said I'd sit in the waiting room until he could see me. The nurse was mad because I didn't have an appointment, but I knew if I didn't see him then that I'd suffer through a whole weekend without relief, probably ending up in the ER. The waiting room was full of people with scheduled appointments, and the nurse didn't like having me in there, in obvious pain and enough discomfort that everyone was looking at me with pity in their eyes. One lady even offered to wait longer when it was her turn, wanting to let me go ahead of her, and a couple other people in the room nodded their heads, saying they'd do the same, but this nurse was a real bully, and made me wait until all the other people were seen. That's okay, I just wanted to make sure that he saw me. When I finally got in to see him, he said that he didn't even know that I'd called or that I was having any trouble!!! The nurse apparently hadn't even given him the message(s) (yes, I'd called three times) that I was in pain. So either he or she was lying, but once there, he took care of me right away. I'm not saying that this is the case with your situation, but if you could get there to see him today you'd be so much better off. You shouldn't have to go through a whole weekend in pain. Let us know. With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H. Griffeth http://www.pancassociation.org/anthology.htm#Heidi Bluffton, South Carolina SC & SE Regional Rep. PAI, Intl. I had to go to the ER Wednesday because of severe panc pain. The ER doctor said I needed to follow-up with my GI doctor the 1st thing in the AM. I called and the receptionist said I couldn't see the doctor until next Monday. The oxycodone is not helping so I have anothter call into my doctors office I'm a little upset right now waiting for the phone call.
