Rexanne and Ellen are in a size 8. Yeah, Ellen, I heard about those miniskirts girl. and na have lost over 100 pounds in six months and they were around my starting weight (272). What I want to know is " HOW CAN I BE DOWN " ? (translation...I want to be like you). A size 8 is my goal. What do I have to do to get there? Spill it... LOL I will weigh in on the 29th. I am hoping to be down a total of 50 for three months. So, I need to know what you eat, how much you eat, how much you exercise, and what supplements you take. How much protein do you get in, and how much water do you drink? I just started eating solids last Monday. I know my protein intake is very low. I don't think I get 8 glasses of water per day. I need all the help I can get. Because it is awfully hard to get a SOUL SISTER ghetto booty in a junior 7/8. Sheesh... le twelve weeks post op >> Hi le, I want to tell you that I think you are doing everything right! You have stayed with liquids far longer than I did and you are probably doing better on the exercise front too!! In fact, you are gaining muscle I'm sure and will be in tip top shape when the pounds drop off. I stayed on total liquids for 14 days, then moved on to soft foods for another 14 days. At 1 month post-op I began to incorporate other foods but I stayed strictly with un processed foods for the next 5 months. This meant anything natural.....plenty of veggies, fruits, meats (I didn't have any problems with any meats) cheese, etc. I had salad every single day for lunch and then had dinner with my family. I basically didn't eat any packaged foods, (except tuna) although I know they are very convenient. I ate mostly high protein and low carbs and drank a daily protein shake with creatin every day. Also, I had juice in the morning but always Crystal Light or water the rest of the day to eliminate some of those calories. I stayed away from chips and junk food and only tried my first sweet at almost 7 months post-op. I know some will say this sounds too much like a diet, but for me it was just a healthier way of living. I had read so many times on other WLS boards that the first six months will be the most important and to make the most of it. I decided that if I was going to go through surgery then I could comply for at least 6 months. I don't want to sound like this was difficult.....it's really weird but it was easy.....it just became habit and I never even wanted any " bad " foods. However, I understand some poeple do, and a little goes a long way. I know that Dr.R likes us to eat 6 small meals per day, but I've always had just 3. My bowels were never regular and everytime I " grazed " throughout the day I seemed to have an intestinal back up. Everyone's body is so different and I know that mine takes more time to process and metabolize foods than most others. Even now when I eat a little too much I don't seem to have a bowel movement the next day. Otherwise I am always regular, and I was never regular before the MGB. I totally believe the bypass part was the major factor in lieu of the smaller stomach for me personally. I wasn't a huge eater to begin with and actually ate somewhat healthy. I have noticed quite a slow down since I have slacked off 2 months ago, but I'm getting near goal so I knew it would become harder. Just keep up the good work le....it sounds like you're on the right track and it may even help now that you are able to eat some solid foods. I tried on a pair of size 10 pants from Sears the other night and they fit!!! yipeeee!!! I think 8/10 will be my goal!! I know you will get there, and I can see your determination all over the screen!!! Just keep on keeping on le...You're gonna have to come and move that ghetto booty with us one night, OK? I can just see ya now dancing to " Its Raining Men " !!
