TRUNCATED EMAIL ADDRESSES ONLINE

The reason I type email addresses with spaces in them on line is this:

I am typing my email address here (without spaces):

lindat@...

Now, go to the online version of the MGB list at:

http://www.egroups.com/group/MiniGastricBypass

and look at this message. (This only works if you look at it online).

In the online version of the list, the email address will be truncated

-- the whole last part is missing. It also truncates the " from " email

addresses in the message headers. This is a feature that prevents

spammers from harvesting email addresses from the public mail lists, but

it is a real pain in the butt if you are reading email online (instead

of getting individual emails) because you can't get anybody's email

address to reply to them personally.

So, when I need to type an email address in a message, I put spaces

before and after the @ sign. This keeps the automated email-truncating

thing from knowing that I've typed an email address.
