Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I have been away from the board for a few weeks. I have come in to read a few post to try to keep updated. I have been going though some going pains. In my quest to find a doctor to support me on this journey, I have run into some road blocks. The lastest is this...I jog 2 miles (very slowly) per week and walk about 4 miles per week. I try to keep up with at least 20 push ups per day and 30 situps per day. I am taking Xenical and still not losing any weight. I had another doctor visit with my PCP only to be told that my Blood pressure is still up...175/98. This is better than the 200/120 that it had been prior to angioplasty surgery(to renal artery). I have what is call Fibromuscular Dsyplasia which is causing my HBP so I am told. They tell me it has nothing to do with my weight. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on that? Anyway, I have been told if they can get my BP under control that they will support me for this surgery but at this time he feels that this surgery is elective for me. What a joke! I am spending $80 per month on meds that are not working and am being told that this surgery will not help my HBP. In reading the MGB manual is seems like it would be helped. I understand that they want to get my BP under control, but the meds are not doing that. Does anyone have any suggestions that could possibly help me? I am still waiting to see the specialist. So any help, suggestions, or direction would be greatly appreciated. The road in between here in there is the longest I have ever seen but definitely worth the trip. I just need a little guidance here. Thanks ... Jai
