I stopped the epsom salt baths because I would think they'd irritate his raw bottom. I do give him magnesium. The only thing that is " new " but I've been doing it for about a month is giving him fish body oil capsules. I dont' open the capsules, do you think that could cause the bumps or stool problem? I stopped CLO because he was getting way too much vitamin A from the combination of multi vitamin and CLO. I have ordered Coromega but have not received it yet. I will replace the fish body oils with that. any thoughts? > Hi , > > > My 2 year old has been on scd for about 11 months. he just went > thru > > another big die off (actually still going on I think). > > > > Is it " normal " to have diarhea for over a week during die off? > > Is it diarrhea or loose stools? > What is the frequency? > > > He has a bad diaper rash also. > > Have you tried epsom salt baths? Guest guest
Hi , Watery diarrhea 3 times a day for over a week does seem like a lot. Whether it is die off or something else it is too much. When he had die off before did he have diarrhea like this? GOing back to a basic or the intro diet for a few days may help to get the diarrhea under control. Did you notice any bowel changes when you added the fish body oil capsules? Sometimes a reaction can build up but there are usually at elast subtle signs (increased gas, higher bm frequency, looser stools etc.). Guest guest
-Hi Sheila Well, wouldn't you know it, today he had a decent looking poop! I am beginning to think it was the brand of goat milk. I just switched to coach farms and the resulting poop looks better but I will continue to monitor it. As for the skin bumps, they are still there. I stopped the fish oil. Maybe it was a build up as you said. he gets that way with casein also. he can tolerate some but over time he starts to show symptoms again. I would go back to the basic diet but he will only eat omlettes. that's it. I hide meats and veges in there. He absolutely refuses to eat anything if it's not in an omlette. His other die offs were not as bad as this, except for the very first one. I will watch him closely and very slowly add in the newer fish oil and see what happens. but first I will see if the bumps go away. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. thanks. linda, mom to broderick, ASD, SCD 11 months -- In pecanbread , " Sheila Trenholm " wrote: > > Hi , > > Watery diarrhea 3 times a day for over a week does seem like a lot. > Whether it is die off or something else it is too much. > > When he had die off before did he have diarrhea like this? > > GOing back to a basic or the intro diet for a few days may help to > get the diarrhea under control. > > Did you notice any bowel changes when you added the fish body oil > capsules? Guest guest
Hi , Glad to hear things are looking up. I agree that it could have been from the brand of goat milk (or the batch of goat yogurt). Let us know if he starts having trouble again.
