So much for a quiet day!

Well, I thought that I'd have a day of rest today while the kids were at school,

after another busy weekend of non-stop remodeling (and a major insomnia attack

last night!), BUT.....THEY CANCELLED SCHOOL for the day due to the heat!!

AAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!

I found out about when I had DJ over at the clinic for an emergency visit with

the doc--he had a horrible asthma attack this morning and albuterol wasn't doing

enough at first. The nurse comes and asks me if I'd heard school had been

cancelled and they were sending kids home, and wondering if I needed to use the

phone to make arrangements for Cody. I panicked! I not only had that, but my

daughter at the junior high school too, and had an orthodontist appt. I needed

to get her to--she wouldn't know I was at the clinic, and couldn't call me on my

cell phone, so I could just see her panicking, too! LOL Cody's school was

great--the school counselor drove him over to the clinic and met me in the lobby

with him--what great, great people they are!!! I had a hard time getting

through, and I had to call for over 20 minutes to get through to my daughter's

school--turns out they were also having phone problems on top of everything

else! LOL Got through just in time as they were letting out, so I told them to

give her a message to walk to the ortho (it's only 6 blocks from school). What

a day already! LOL

They had to shut the schools down due to the heat, and Excel Energy shut off all

power to them to conserve--not sure why, but I guess it was putting an overload

on the system. It's supposed to cool off tomorrow, so things should go back to

normal! I just hope I can get a nap in yet today! LOL

Later!

S., mom to Cody (7, pwcf, nissen for severe reflux, malnutrition,

ADHD), DJ (9, nocf, asthma, ADD), and a (14, nocf, ADHD)
