Guest guest
Dear Marisa, I'm sorry that it has taken several days to respond to your inquiry earlier in the month about your good health, and was it possible that you could be feeling this way and have CP. Your questioning this brought on a lot of thought and my behalf, and I'll tell you something that my doctor has told me. If your CP was not caused by alcohol, this may not have revelence, but I'd like to pass on what he said anyway, perhaps it will benefit someone else, or bring some hope to another member. My doctor said that he has had several patients whose original diagnosis was CP caused by alcohol, and that with a few of these patients, two or three years later after they had ceased consumption of all alcoholic products, noticed a significant reduction in their pain. One of the patients was the wife of a doctor that my doc was friends with. He said that she had reached a level where she had absolutely no pain anymore. She still had CP, and took enzymes and stuck to her low fat diet, but otherwise, she was back to " normal " . Unfortunately, she later died in a car accident or something. My doctor was so encouraged by this that he wanted me to go and talk with her surviving husband so that he could tell me all about it. I didn't, mainly because he practiced only two days a week at a facility that was a 1 1/2 drive from here, on a walk-in basis only. I didn't want to have to drive all that way, and then sit and wait for hours, just to hear a story I'd already heard in great detail from my doctor. I know he told me this story mainly to give me some hope, that all things were possible. This was before he realized that my pseudocysts seem to be here to stay, and as long as they are, that I continue to have pain and continue to have acute attacks. This woman didn't have pseudocysts, or any other complications. Since my recent attack and additional increase in size of the pseudocysts, he hasn't mentioned this story to me anymore. But I do think it's very interesting and would give a sense of hope to many. As for yourself, enjoy these good days with complete freedom and pleasure, and don't worry about it. As with all things, only time will tell. Count your blessings each and every day, and I hope this continues for your indefinately! With hope and prayers, Heidi Heidi H.
