Guest guest
Hang in there Bob. Dr. Rutledge and his staff are fantastic people that are willing to work with you. Barbara, the last time I heard, was in charge of the packets, so maybe you can give her a call and ask what you are missing. My weight is not evenly distributed either. I am all thighs and butt. I have a 51 inch waist, but my legs and butt are far far far bigger than that. If I can help in any way just let me know. With Love, Lara M. Akin (BMI 63) Trying to get my weight down to do the dance with Dr. Rutledge.
Guest guest
Hi Lara, We all sure are built differently. I am 5'2 " and weigh 280lbs and have a waist of 55 inches, but near normal legs and thin ankles. I have the classic apple shape the one that is at higher risk of heart attacks. I enjoyed your post today about your talk with Dr.R, he sure sounds like a very compassionate man. There was an interesting letter to Ann Landers in my paper today about a 500lb man who was going to have WLS. The more people hear about it, hopefully it will be a more accepted treatment for severe obesity in the public's eye. I am a pretty open person and although I have only told my family and close friends so far, I believe that I will not be able to refrain from being a champion of WLS, the MGB in particular. To add my thoughts about how long it takes to get the MGB, I know in Northern Ca the wait for surgery goes into next year. For anyone like Bob who just started this, there would be no way anything could be done quickly in ca. Wishing You Only Success Lara!
