Guest guest
There is always casein in yogurt. It's the lactose that gets digested away by the bacteria. So... that batch may still have lactose. I feel for you down there. We had three days above 105 degrees here at our house in southwestern Washington state (where NObody has central air) this past week and weekend... . I think it's " only " going to be 93 today.:-P I hope your power doesn't go out. Patti Yogurt-bad batch- can I use for...? Ok my yogurt has separated (think it is too dang hot in California right now to make yogurt). Can I bake with it or will there be casein in it because it wasn't successful? ) KELLI Kai 3 3/4 (ASD) & Tatum 2 (NT) SCD since 5/

So it is just that the casein is " harmless " ? I am confused. ) KELLI Kai 3 3/4 (ASD) & Tatum 2 (NT) SCD since 5/05 _____ From: pecanbread [mailto:pecanbread ] On Behalf Of Patti Sent: Tuesday, July 25, 2006 2:36 PM To: pecanbread Subject: Re: Yogurt-bad batch- can I use for...? Guest guest
<<So it is just that the casein is " harmless " ? I am confused.>> Kelli, Elaine has a bit about casein at her website... www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info under the " Knowledge Base " link. Just look up casein and see how she explains that the fermentation process " denatures " the casein and makes it more digestible. It's still not casein free... just lactose free. The lactose (milk sugar) is what can feed bad gut pathogens. Patti
Guest guest
Thanks Patti, I have read it a couple of times but I still have a hard time " believing " that it won't be a problem if that makes sense which is entirely *my* issue. I am still not sure whether my son is reacting to it. We are having a hard time of it now.he is really retreating and I am starting to wonder about the yogurt. It has been about a month using it. ) KELLI Kai 3 3/4 (ASD) & Tatum 2 (NT) SCD since 5/05 _____ From: pecanbread [mailto:pecanbread ] On Behalf Of Patti Sent: Wednesday, July 26, 2006 7:35 AM To: pecanbread Subject: Re: Yogurt-bad batch- can I use for...? <<So it is just that the casein is " harmless " ? Guest guest
Kelli... Trust your " Mommy instincts " , too... If you feel he's possibly reacting to the casein, pull it out for a week or so and see if he improves. Then you'd know for sure. Patti RE: Yogurt-bad batch- can I use for...?
