Guest guest
WEll, I went to the Opthalmologist yesterday for a field exam which measures the peripheral vision. I passed it, hooray for one thing. Then the tech wanted to check my eyes with my new glasses which I didn't get the prescription filled on because of the cataract caused by the pred that the Dr. found last time. She was real huffy about the fact that I didn't get the prescription filled but I told her I thought it was stupid because my sight is going to get worse because of the cataract so why waste the money. So she checked them with the machine fixed to the new prescription & there is a change for the worse of course. She dilated my eyes & then I saw the Dr. Not good news. The cataract is growing which I figured but the pressure in my right eye is up. This is my good eye. Of course it is caused by the prednisone. I am down to 40 & really feel crappy. My left ear is still flaring, red & warm. He said not to get the new glasses because of the cataract & it will be a while before he can pluck it, although when I talked to him on Monday he said I don't have to wait until it's ripe. I'm really getting disgusted. It just never ends. The dizzy spells are getting real bad again. I even have them when I'm sitting still, but I just haven't been able to push myself to go to the ENT. It's on my list of things to do next week. Talk to you all soon. Luv ya, Susiecue
Guest guest
Susiecue, Sorry to hear about the cataract. Did the Doc give you anything to lower the eye pressure? Do you know what your readings were? I use Xalatin to bring my pressure down. Sandy She dilated my eyes & then I saw the Dr. Not good news. Guest guest
Sue, that really makes me nervous. I have to see my Opthomalogist on Thursday. At least, at this point in time, I don't have any cataracts (that I know of). Sounds like your peripheral vision is a lot better than mine, mine is non-exsistent. The last stroke wiped it out. So now I have an 75 - 80% atrophied optic nerve, and no peripheral vision. Boy this disease sure makes a mess out of us, doesn't it. But as long as I can see the sunshine, children, and my husband's face, I'm doing a-ok. Hope things get better, just keep hanging in there.
