Guest guest
I second and I'll even add that his front view shot looks really great. The base of his skull is what needs to pop out more in my opinion. From the start, my daughter's orthotist focused on redirecting her growth to the bottom back where she was really flat and within two months, we saw remarkable results. She was 9.5 months when she started so at 7.5 months, I have no doubt that your son can still improve. Here is a picture that show how she grew in that two months period: http://mymaysa.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/dsi1and2rightprofile.jpg Leila Maysa, 13 months old, week 3 in DOC band 2 http://mymaysa.wordpress.com/ --- On Fri, 2/27/09, <nwilkens2275@...> wrote: From: <nwilkens2275@...>Subject: Re: please give feedback on photosPlagiocephaly Date: Friday, February 27, 2009, 8:54 AM I think from the top view he actually looks pretty good, but I think most of his flattening is at the bottom/base of his head and is definitely visible from the side. Plus the view from the back does accent the wideness of his head, so although he's not the worst case of brachy I've seen, he could definitely benefit from staying in the band longer (as long as he has ample room to grow in it). The skull base is the most difficult and longest to correct, so the longer he's in the band, hopefully the more correction you'll see down low.Jake-2 (DOCBand Grad 9/08)Jordan-5>> Hi, I've just posted recent photos of my son in the N section-- he is P.> > A week ago he was down to 2mm asymmetry and 90.5% C.I. Guest guest
One thing our specialist (plastic surgeon) mentioned was that yes, the head may round out naturally on its own but why not fix it in 4 months rather than wait 6-8 years for mother nature to work with no guaranteed outcome. That helped us make the decision to band. I bet there is truth to it, as our orthotist is really respected and has not been overly optimistic or nonchalant about anything else. He said that it can take years to see this improvement naturally, so if your kids are just 23 months you've got plenty of time. (However, I will push to keep 's helmet on as long as everyone else is willing, since it can't hurt.) Enjoy this great time of their childhood! I loved it when my older son really started to talk. at 2. > > > > Hi, I've just posted recent photos of my son in the N section-- he > is P. > > > > A week ago he was down to 2mm asymmetry and 90.5% C.I.
